About this area

Help our character Orby – a pretend alien – discover more about sounds by visiting each pod to learn different things about how sounds are created, what they are and some things you can do with them.

You can expect to see

  • Small areas, painted different colours, where you can learn something about sound
  • A semi-circular screen with fuzzy white noise on it, where Orby the Alien appears and talks to you
  • Screens where you can take your own photo and decorate it with different outfits and effects

  • Lots of different noises come from each exhibit, so borrow some ear defenders from our Information Desk if you need them
  • Most exhibits have music playing, or voices singing, even animal noises
