About this area

This is the way into the museum – just follow the yellow brick road!

There are play areas and a giant sandpit in the grounds.

Lots of people like visiting Eureka! so sometimes there might be a queue to get in. The grown up with you can ask an Enabler to let you in faster though.

Activities you can take part in

  • Check into the museum
  • Get a hand stamp put onto your hand (though you don't have to)

  • Families playing outside
  • Picnic tables
  • Mini buses, coaches or cars bringing people to Eureka!
  • Pigeons fluttering about
  • The Eureka! building with lots of glass windows and doors
  • The admissions tills
  • Trains leaving or arriving at Halifax Train Station

  • Trains leaving or arriving at Halifax Train Station
  • Car noises
  • Children shouting, laughing or crying as they play
  • Trolleys being moved about

  • Lots of sand in our giant sand pit
  • Lots of grassy areas that you can run on
